Shaquane Toussaint of Mount Rodney, St Patrick, is already making a powerful impact in his very first semester at Monroe University.
A Mac Donald College (Sauteurs) graduate, Toussaint is now a freshman student-athlete on Monroe University’s men’s track and field team, and he’s having a breakout season with the Mustangs athletic programme. His performances have earned him Athlete of the Week honours from the US Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), a highly respected national organisation representing collegiate coaches across the United States.
This recognition is extremely competitive. Only 2 other Monroe athletes have earned this distinction, making Toussaint’s achievement in his first semester all the more remarkable.
Off the track, Toussaint continues to shine. He is excelling academically as a Computer Information Systems major on the New Rochelle, NY campus, balancing elite athletic performance with strong classroom results.
We could not be prouder. Through his discipline, sportsmanship, leadership, and natural talent, Shaquane Toussaint is not only representing Monroe University with distinction, but he is also making Grenada proud on the international collegiate stage.
