Round four of the 2025 Cayman Islands Watercraft Association National Tour was an adrenaline-filled conclusion to the association’s 15th anniversary season.
The event, hosted on 17 Aug. at the South Sound Dock, saw riders push hard and spectators line the shores to witness the action.
In the Pro Open Class, Aaron Miller, riding for the Dream Team, delivered a dominant performance, claiming both the round four victory and the overall season championship.
Joining him on the podium was his Dream Team teammate Tyler Watler, who secured second place.
Cline Glidden III, who competed under ‘Racing for a Cause’ in support of the Cayman Islands Cancer Society, battled through mechanical issues in the first moto.
Glidden switched to a backup ski for motos two and three, and fought back to secure a third-place finish.
The Amateur Limited Class saw an intense battle for the top spot, resulting in a narrow one-point finish.
Leroy Whittaker, under Law Marine Tech, powered his way to victory, earning first place for the day and the overall season championship.
Whittaker dedicated his win to the late Dean Charrier, founder of Dean’s Team Racing (later renamed Dean Strong Watercraft Performance), who passed away earlier this year. Whittaker had been the official mechanic of Dean’s Team Racing and had worked closely with Charrier.
Just one point shy of the championship, Johnathon Ebanks of North Side Racing (NSR) finished a strong second for both the day and the season.
The competition for third was so close that Brandon Elliott and Joshua Watler tied, with Watler ultimately claiming the podium position on a tiebreaker based on stronger moto scores.
The high-energy Novice Stock Class saw Allenger McLaughlin Jr. of Shotgun Racing take first place.
Despite mechanical troubles and having to switch to his backup craft in moto three, Ryan Dixon of NSR still managed to secure second place, while Andre Massias of Rabbit Hole Racing also overcame mechanical troubles to round out the top three.
The Naturally Aspirated (NA) Open and Lite classes were combined on the start line due to reduced participation and mechanical setbacks, but were scored separately.
In the NA Open, Malachi Green of NSR was the sole competitor, cruising to first place for both the round and the season championship.
His main rival, Alwin Buttrum Jr., was notably absent while representing the Cayman Islands in 3×3 basketball at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games.
The NA Lite class was dominated by rookies, with Alex Medina of Hi-Voltage Racing delivering a breakout performance to secure a first-place finish after only joining the tour in its third round last July.
Following behind was Dream Team’s Khaled Thompson, who took second place for both the day and the season.
Max Lawrence of KY1 Motorsports Racing placed third in all three motos, resulting in an overall third place for the day.
