It was another action-packed Friday at the ABFA Technical Center across the various leagues in the Cool and Smooth Joma Caribbean Ministry of Sports School Football Competition. There was the individual brilliance by Nafisa Quashie, the excellence by defending Champions Antigua Grammar School (AGS) in the Under 14 Boys Competition and a royal upset delivered to defending Champions Princess Margaret School in the Under 20 Boys Competition.
The first encounter saw AGS deliver a clinical first-half display to demolish All Saints Secondary School 4-0 in the Boys U-14 division. The match was effectively decided within the opening 10 minutes as AGS raced to a three-goal advantage.
Kenzie O’Ochoa opened the scoring in the 4th minute before Tomarey Henry doubled the lead just two minutes later. Shamar Abramis made it 3-0 in the 9th minute, leaving ASSS reeling from the early onslaught.
T’Ondre James completed the rout with a fourth goal in the 32nd minute, capping off a comprehensive performance from the Grammar School boys.
In the Girls U-20 encounter, Antigua Girls High School’s Nafisa Quashie produced a remarkable individual performance, scoring all six goals in a dominant 6-0 victory over Jennings Secondary School.
Quashie wasted no time making her mark, finding the net in the opening minute. She added her second in the 5th minute before completing her hat-trick in the 23rd minute. The prolific forward continued her scoring spree in the second half with goals in the 43rd, 57th, and 65th minutes to secure the double hat-trick.
To close the evening out, Antigua Barbuda Center of Arts and Sciences (ABCAS) savoured a 3-0 triumph over Princess Margaret School in the Boys U-20 division.
