ALAN BRAZIL famously wrote-off Ange Postecoglou before he’d even started work as Hoops manager.
And the Celtic-daft radio host could be risking a repeat if the current favourite to land the Parkhead job lands the position!
Brendan Rodgers’ shock exit from Celtic sent shockwaves around Scottish football just over two weeks ago.
Martin O’Neill made a stunning return to the Hoops dugout in the immediate aftermath and saw things through to the international break which is now underway.
With Celts icon O’Neill back at the helm, club chiefs have been searching for a permanent successor to Rodgers.
The man currently in pole position to take over in Glasgow‘s east end is Wilfried Nancy.

SunSport revealed earlier this week that the Frenchman, who is currently in charge of Columbus Crew in MLS, is the frontrunner for the position.
Some bookies have even suspended betting on Nancy, 48, being appointed the next Celtic boss.
If it was to be Nancy, it would certainly be a left field option.
A rather unfamiliar name in European circles, he’s spent his entire coaching career in North America and has only been a manager for the past four years.
Nancy won the MLS Cup with Columbus Crew last year and also notched a Canadian Championship in charge of CF Montreal, where he succeeded the great Thierry Henry as manager.
Someone with a vested interest in who the next Celtic boss is Alan Brazil.
The former footie star and talkSPORT presenter is a huge Hoops fan.
And the potentnial appointment of Nancy has invoked memories of Brazil‘s infamous comments prior to Celtic’s appointment of Ange Postecoglou – comments that also included a mispronunciation of the Australian’s name.
Back in the summer of 2021, Brazil fumed: “Celtic have applied for exemption with Uefa for Yokohama Marinos boss, what is it, Postecooglou? (sic), to manage in Europe.
“He does not hold the required licence – this has got to be a wind-up.
“Oh, he’d be a great manager. Where do they find these guys from?”
Postecoglou would of course go on to be a huge success at Celtic.
He led the club to five trophies during his three-year spell, bowing out with a treble before joining Tottenham in 2023.
Brazil would later publicly apologise to Postecoglou.
That was after talk turned to the possibility of Nancy taking over at Celtic.
Brazil revealed that he’d heard the Hoops could go ‘left field’ with their next appointment, so in that regard, wasn’t surprised to see Nancy’s name in the frame.
He did, however, admit that he had no idea who Nancy is and he also isn’t particularly familiar with the other leading contender, Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen.
Brazil said: “TalkSPORT understands Columbus Crew boss – no, I don’t know this guy, do you Ally?
“Wilfried Nancy’s emerged as the leading contender to become Celtic’s new manager.
“The Scottish champions also considering Bodo/Glimt’s Kjetil Knutsen – so who are these people?
“I don’t know – is he another Ange? Could history be about to repeat itself?”
The clip of Brazil blasting the potential appointment, at the time, of Postecoglou was then played.
He added: “I can hold my hands up its not a problem and maybe Nancy can do it as well.
“I don’t know who the other two are.”
McCoist then got involved in the discussion with an appraisal of Knutsen.
He told Brazil: “The boy at Bodo/Glimt has been brilliant, Alan. They’ve had some incredible results.”
Brazil then admitted he wouldn’t be in a hurry to see Celtic move on from Martin O’Neill.

He said: “I think there’s a long way to go. With a break now it’s nice the board can get their heads together but I wouldn’t be in a rush to get rid of Martin yet to be honest.”
McCoist replied: “They’ve got to get it right but they’re very fortunate due to the good decision bringing Martin in, it gives them the safety valve of a bit of time.”
