Local netball action continues with the recent launch of the inaugural AllStars Netball Club’s Fast Five Rally and fundraiser on 1 Nov. at the John Gray High School gymnasium.
The event showcased skill and excitement across all divisions which comprised of four female teams, two male teams and two under-16 teams.
All teams battled it out in the Fast5 Netball format which is a much faster game with only five players per team instead of the traditional seven.
In the female division, four teams – AllStars, Rising Stars, Elite, and Sky Angels – faced off for the top spots of the tournament.
Ultimately, the hosting club, AllStars, emerged victorious, with Elites earning second place, and Rising Stars rounding out the medalists in third place.
Amongst the two participating male teams, Rising Stars claimed first-place after defeating AllStars Storms.
The two under-16 teams, Rising Stars Silver Aces overcame AllStars Sparks.
Lyneth Monteith, president and coach of the AllStars Netball Club, stated, “The rally was a fundraiser for [our club] but also a great opportunity to showcase netball in the community.”
She confirmed that the rally will become an annual event and that they are already anticipating even more teams joining the action next year.
