CHAMPIONSHIP Dunfermline are the latest SPFL club to be granted permission to sell booze to fans ahead of league clashes.
Fife Council have granted the East End Park side permission for the controlled sale of alcohol for the matches against Morton on Saturday November 22 and Arbroath on Saturday December 6.

Punters will be able to buy and consume pints from the Norrie McCathie stand concourse from 1pm to 2.30pm ahead of the kick off for both clashes, scheduled for 3pm.
The move follows “the success of a similar fanzone” at a Premier Sports Cup match against Stirling Albion earlier in the year.
And comes hot on the heels of the fact that Aberdeen fans will be permitted to buy drinks in the Richard Donald Stand ahead of the Scottish Premiership clash with Kilmarnock on December 14.
That’s the first time in a whopping FORTY FOUR years that punters at a top flight Scottish match will be able to enjoy pre-match pints outwith a hospitality setting.

Dunfermline‘s Championship promotion rivals St Johnstone also announced this week that punters attending two of their games will be permitted to drink alcohol.
The Fifers, currently having a strong season in the Championship under the charge of Neil Lennon, wrote in a statement: “Dunfermline Athletic FC can confirm that our upcoming home fixtures on Saturday 22 November (vs Greenock Morton, kick-off 3:00pm) and Saturday 6 December 2025 (vs Arbroath, kick-off 3:00pm) in the William Hill Championship have been granted a licence by Fife Council for the controlled sale of alcohol at the match.
“This follows the success of a similar fanzone at our Premier Sports Cup match against Stirling Albion in July this year.
“As part of this initiative, alcohol will be available for purchase within the Norrie McCathie stand concourse at KDM Group East End Park from:
- 1pm to 2.30pm on 22 November
- 1pm to 2.30pm on 6 December
“Following the previous application, the club has been working hard with the council to ensure a safe, accessible catering option can be available to fans and we are thankful to the council for their support in ensuring this can be the case.
“These sales will be managed in full accordance with licensing regulations, with appropriate security and stewarding measures in place. The aim of the initiative is to explore how a managed approach to alcohol sales can contribute to a positive and safe matchday experience.
“We’d like to remind supporters that alcohol may only be consumed within clearly designated areas and not in sight of the pitch, and all activity will be confined to clearly designated and monitored areas. Regular matchday safety protocols remain unchanged.
“We hope this will add to the enjoyment of the matchday experience for supporters and we appreciate your cooperation and support as we participate in this limited trial. We will provide further updates ahead of each fixture.”
