ANTHONY JOSHUA heads up a five-man shortlist of potential opponents to fight Jake Paul in place of Gervonta Davis.
Davis is due to face Paul in an exhibition bout on November 14 in Miami live on streaming giants Netflix.
But it hangs in the balance after Davis was hit with allegations of battery and kidnapping by ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel.
Most Valuable Promotions – founded by Paul – confirmed they are investigating the allegations.
A statement read: “Most Valuable Promotions immediately initiated an investigation upon learning of the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on October 30, 2025.
“At this time, we are gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure any decision we make is thoroughly vetted.

According to Mike Coppinger, Terence Crawford, Ryan Garcia, Nate Diaz and Francis Ngannou are all being considered.
And Eddie Hearn has also put Anthony Joshua’s name forward after reaching out to Paul’s promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian.
Garcia, 27, is said to have been offered a fight with Paul, 28, in December.
But the American’s promoter Oscar de la Hoya shot down the bout due to his contract with rival network DAZN.
De La Hoya said: “So I wake up to calls from reporters asking me about Jake Paul and Ryan Garcia.
“Let me just tell you why this fight is not going to happen. Ryan Garcia fights for DAZN. And Jake Paul fights on Netflix.
“I mean, that’s pretty much the bottom line.”
Garcia is also in talks to fight WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios, 30, in early 2026.
De La Hoya added: “Golden Boy has a contract with DAZN. Ryan Garcia has a contract with Golden Boy. And that’s just the way it is.
“I mean, this is business. Ryan’s probably going to go around saying, ‘Oh, you’re keeping me from making money.’
“No, you have to go by the law, by the rules. You have a contract with DAZN. You have a contract with Golden Boy. It just doesn’t happen that way.”
Similarly, Hearn has put AJ’s name forward but contractual allegiances again stand in the way.
He told iFL TV: “There would have to be a lot of things that fall into place. But it’s possible…
“AJ is exclusive to DAZN, so without DAZN’s consent or blessing or a deal that DAZN is happy with, we wouldn’t go forward anyway.
“I’ve been hounded by the media all day about, ‘Have you spoke to Jake Paul?’ Yes, I’ve spoken to Nakisa, we’ve talked over it and around it.”
Hearn confirmed he has spoken to Joshua about the fight and AJ’s response was “just let me know where.”
We unequivocally condemn any form of violence and are committed to handling this matter with diligence and respect for all involved.

Joshua, 35, is yet to fight since his September 2024 loss to Daniel Dubois, 28, with Hearn teasing that he could return in a comeback bout before the year ends.
Elsewhere, pound-for-pound star Terence Crawford, 38, is coming off a massive win against Canelo Alvarez, 35, in September.
And he previously said he would only fight Paul for $200MILLION (£150m).
Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou, 39, has boxed twice before.
He dropped Tyson Fury, 37, in his October 2023 debut before losing a controversial decision while losing to AJ five months later.
Ngannou returned to MMA in October 2024, beating Renen Feriera, 35, and has been calling out ex-WBC champ Deontay Wilder, 39.
Finally Diaz, 40, was dropped and beaten convincingly by Paul in their August 2023 boxing bout but claimed he was injured.
Diaz posted: “I was injured in this fight. But they trippin I still won this fight.
“Its all good tho most people don’t know shit about boxing ill get it back on the both the paul sisters see u f***ers soon.”
Davis, 30, was initially arrested in Miami in July with reports suggesting he was facing a battery charge against ex-girlfriend Rossel.
New allegations have now emerged with Rossel claiming Davis attacked her on October 27 and previously made threats to kill.
Rossel filed a civil lawsuit on Thursday accusing the boxer of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
She also claimed there were “at least” four previous incidents when he “physically assaulted and choked” her.
She is seeking damages “of over $50,000” (£38,145) as she is seeking therapeutic treatment to help her deal with her PTSD from the alleged attack.
