Antigua and Barbuda’s eight-member delegation delivered outstanding performances at the 5th NACAC U13 & U15 Championships, securing multiple medals and demonstrating the growing strength of youth athletics in the twin-island nation.
The team’s standout achievement came in the sprint events, where Antigua and Barbuda dominated the competitions. Gideon Roberts captured Gold in the boys 80m with a commanding time of 7.49 seconds, finishing well ahead of second-place Alex Messi Jones-Ifill of Barbados who clocked 7.82 seconds. The margin of victory showcased Robert’s explosive speed and technical excellence.
In the girls 80m sprint, the nation celebrated a remarkable double podium finish. Kiarah Simon earned Silver with an outstanding time of 8.24 seconds, while Aliyah Williams secured Bronze clocking 8.28 seconds, completing an exceptional sprint showing for the Caribbean nation.

Geron Henry added to the medal tally with a strong 5th place finish in the U15 Boys Heptathlon, scoring 1485 points to earn recognition among the top eight finishers who received medals in the demanding seven-event competition.
Notable performances throughout the championships included Grenada’s Leah-Rose Catherine Charles dominating the U13 Women’s Heptathlon with 1338 points, while Bahamas’ Jazae Sarai Johnson led the U15 Women’s division with an impressive 1673 points. Barbados’ Alex Messi Jones-Ifill topped the U15 Men’s Heptathlon standings with 1477 points.
