RANGERS could face a battle to keep hold off axed midfielder Nico Raskin – with two of Turkey’s biggest clubs vying for his services just hours before their window closes.
The transfer deadline doesn’t hit in that country until midnight tonight, and that leaves the future of Raskin still up for grabs.
That’s after it was revealed today that the midfielder had been left out of a second successive massive game for his club, tomorrow’s Premiership six pointer against Hearts.
He played no part either in the recent Old Firm draw against Celtic, which ended goalless.
Rangers insisted early on deadline day that the midfielder wouldn’t be leaving the club but he’s been responsible for one of the longest running sagas of the summer – and a report in Sozcu.com claims that both Besiktas and Fenerbahce have sanctioned a late move for the player.
Fenerbahce chief Ali Koc has been quoted saying everyone at the club wants a No 8 after failing in a bit to sign Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma – and manager Domenico Tedesco knows Raskin very well from his time with the Belgian national team.

In Turkey, teams are allowed 14 signings from overseas – with Becao to be added as Fenerbahce’s No 14 if a deal for Raskin doesn’t get over the line.
He said: “Bissouma was close, but he got injured. We want a smart number 8.
“He can distribute the ball intelligently and play box-to-box. We’re working on a young player.
“Transfers don’t end at the last minute at Fenerbahçe. Those coming in and out never end.
“We’ll push the envelope until the last moment.”
Fenerbahce’s Istanbul rivals Besiktas – under the charge of former Turkiye star Sergen Yalcin – are also credited with an interest.
