Belarus vs Scotland preview
It was all a bit doom and gloom heading into Friday’s World Cup qualifier in Denmark.
And when the team news came out, social media went into a frenzy and it was all ‘Steve Clarke out’ seemingly.
Once again though, he proved doubters wrong and the only real disappointment is that we didn’t actually WIN against the Danes.
Chances were few and far between but there were a couple of golden chances to win it after some superb defending and goalkeeping from a centre half pairing and goalkeeper much maligned.
That point counts for nothing, of course, if it isn’t followed up on with a win in Belarus tonight.
They were well and truly battered 5-1 by a Greek side who more than fancy themselves as winners of this qualifying group and face the Danes later too.
We last faced them in World Cup qualifying in 2005 when held to a goalless draw over there and beaten 1-0 at Hampden.
If either of those happen, the calls asking for the manager will resurface tenfold…
