By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Team Belize showed grit and promise on Saturday morning at the Caribbean Cycling Union’s 2025 Junior Road Championships, finishing just shy of the podium in two fiercely contested Individual Time Trial categories held at the Graeme Hall Course in Christ Church, Barbados.

🚴♀️🚴♂️In the Junior Men’s division, Keith A. Enwright Jr. delivered a determined ride, clocking in fourth behind medalists from Puerto Rico (1st), Martinique (2nd), and Antigua (3rd). Meanwhile, Irene Baki matched that result in the Junior Women’s category, placing fourth behind Bermuda (1st and 3rd) and Martinique (2nd). Both athletes battled through a technical 5.7-kilometer course that tested the region’s best young cyclists.

“Our team missed out on podium in both Jr males (Keith A. Enwright Jr. 4th) and Jr females (Irene Baki 4th). We are proud of their performance. [Sunday] we get to turn it up a notch in the road race,” Team Belize chaperone Rita Matute née Thompson posted on social media.
Devyn Major Choto also competed in the Junior Category Time Trial. The Caribbean Cycling Union hasn’t yet released the official standings.
