By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize was represented at the 2nd Concacaf Coach Education Conference in Guatemala City by Belize Women’s National Team (BWNT) Head Coach Wayne Casimiro and BWNT player and coach Ada Cordova.

Cordova, who also served as head coach of the Premier League of Belize’s San Pedro Pirates during the 2024–2025 season, joined Casimiro at the two-day event held November 17–18 in St Kitts and Nevis. The conference brought together technical leaders from Concacaf, FIFA, UEFA, and regional Member Associations to advance coaching development across the region.

According to the Football Federation of Belize, the conference was themed “Coaching Excellence: Built on Standards, Driven by Service, Support & Sustainability,” and featured interactive presentations, workshops, and case studies focused on four key pillars:
- Standards: Establishing a consistent foundation for coaching excellence
- Service: Promoting a people-centered, responsive coaching culture
- Support: Empowering coach educators and technical leaders
- Sustainability: Ensuring long-term growth across generations
Participants engaged in discussions that framed coach education not just as knowledge transfer, but as a service to the game—anchored in leadership, collaboration, and continuous professional development.

The FFB said the presence of Casimiro and Cordova at the conference aligns with its ongoing efforts to strengthen Belize’s coaching systems and bring them in line with international standards.
“We’re proud to see Belize well represented on this important stage as we continue building stronger, smarter, and more sustainable coaching systems for the future of Belizean football,” the FFB noted in its official release.
