The Benton Police Department and other agencies will be conducting active shooter training at a local school for the next two weeks, the agency announced over the weekend.
Training started Monday morning at Howard Perrin Elementary.
It will conclude on June 26.
The department warned nearby residents to “be prepared to hear louder-than-usual noises as a result of training scenarios.”
According to a social media post, noise levels will be moderate for surrounding neighborhoods, and residents can call the non-emergency number ((501) 778-1171) if they have concerns.
Signs will be posted on the premises and civilian entrance will only be allowed with prior arrangements and authorization.
