An entertaining night of football unfolded on Tuesday, December 23, at the National Training Centre as two Super 16 Cup matches delivered decisive results and set the tone for the remainder of the competition.
In the opening match of the doubleheader, Western Tigers Football Club (FC) produced a dominant performance, overwhelming Zeelugt FC with a convincing 6–0 victory. The Tigers were led by a sensational display from Hakeem Legall, who netted a superb hat-trick with goals in the 18th, 61st, and 72nd minutes.
Support came from Kevon Woodley, who found the back of the net twice in the 39th and 69th minutes, while Samuel Garnett added another in the 51st minute to complete a comprehensive team effort. Western Tigers controlled the tempo from start to finish, leaving Zeelugt FC with little room to recover.
The second match of the night saw Guyana Police Force Football Club secure a solid 2–0 win over Santos FC. After a tightly contested first half, Police broke the deadlock in the 54th minute through Bevney Mark, whose strike gave his side a deserved lead.

Santos pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but the Police defence held firm. The victory was sealed deep into stoppage time when Neron Barrow scored in the 90+2 minute, ensuring maximum points for the lawmen.
The Super 16 Cup action continues on Boxing Day, with two more exciting fixtures scheduled at the National Training Center in Providence. GDF FC will face Mahaica Determinators at 18:30h, followed by a highly anticipated clash between Slingerz FC and Monedderlust FC at 21:00h.
