Veteran national cyclist, Jyme Bridges Jr, clinched the overall prize in the 2025 King of the Hill competition on Sunday, breaking the winning streak of national junior cyclist, Tahje Browne to claim the challenging race by just parts of a second.
Representing Vipers cycling team, Bridges registered a time of 2:13:26.62 to win both the Elite Male crown and the overall category of the event. Browne, who pushed the veteran to the limit, finished a close second with a time of 2:13:47.92. Browne’s time was however, good enough to win him the Junior Male category for the Wadadli Cycling Academy.
Completing the top three overall finishers is veteran Robert Marsh of East Side Raiders. Marsh clocked a time of 2:14:00.48 to finish second in the Elite Male category and third overall.
Junior rider, Aiden Tonge (2:15:04.19) of Team Viper and Abbiel Flemming (2:19:24.33) of Team Pillars Cycling, were fourth and fifth overall. Flemming was also third in the Elite Male category.
Independent rider, Dave Garrett (2:21:11.62), Steve Scott (2:21:30.44) of Scott’s Plumbing Cycling Team, Micah Gore (2:23:31.01) of Road Runners Cycling Club, Newell Mack (2:25:48.53) of Team Pillars Cycling and Conroy Thomas (2:27:55.67) of Team Terminix, rounds off the top l0.
Meanwhile, action in the Cadets 11-14 category, saw Team Vipers’ Elite Thomas claiming the top prize with a time of 1:45:49.81. Alexis Bastardo (2:02:48.62) of Wadadli Cycling Academy and Benjamin Carr (2:08:39.46) of Team Pillars Cycling, were second and third respectively.
