Jamaican sprint hurdler Britany Anderson, the 2022 World Championships 100m hurdles silver medalist, has announced the birth of her first child, a son, via Instagram, offering fans a tender look into this new chapter of her life.
In a reel posted to her account, Anderson shared a heartwarming clip of her husband gently cradling their newborn. Her caption was simple but powerful: “Waited 9 and a half months for this moment.” The moment marked the culmination of a journey she first publicly acknowledged in June, when she confirmed longstanding rumours about her pregnancy and revealed that she was married. She has yet to disclose the name of her husband.

Anderson, 24, has been absent from competition since 2023, after injuries disrupted her momentum following a breakout season in 2022. That year, she announced herself on the global stage by winning silver in the 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, running a personal best of 12.31 seconds in the semi-final—one of the fastest times in Jamaican history.
For now, the world-class hurdler seems to be embracing her new role with quiet grace, sharing just enough to let fans in on a life-changing moment she had clearly long awaited.
