The 2025 Carnival celebrations is now behind us and that means Antigua and Barbuda will turn its attention to the 13th edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 with the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium set to host the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons for their first home fixture on August 16 against the Barbados Royals.
But, although cricket will be the main attraction with local and international superstars set to be on display, the CPL has found a way to keep the Carnival spirit alive while offering amazing opportunities for budding and seasoned performers alike.
This was revealed by Head of Public Relations for the CPL, Peter Miller, who is encouraging local talent to upload recordings of their performances to the Collabr app with the #loudandlouder, for an opportunity to perform for hundreds of fans during halftime shows at the North Sound venue.
“What you can do with that, is if you’re an aspiring musician, is that you can upload your video of you performing with the #loudandlouder to that platform and you can win a chance to perform at a CPL game at halftime so if there are any up and coming artists listening or their parents, their friends, their brothers, their sisters, tell them about that, tell them to download that app and upload their videos of them performing and they are in with a chance at performing at the stadium at halftime during a CPL game. We’d love to see them performing at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium when we’re there from the 16th of August,” he said.
Collabr is a creative platform and social media app designed to connect and facilitate collaboration among artists, musicians, filmmakers, and other digital creators.

Miller said several local acts have already been booked for performances during matches at the venue.
“We’re going to have Claudette Peters at the first game; Kid Fresh and Caution Band are going to be on Friday 22nd for the Warriors game; and Armanii is going to be there as well on Sunday 24th with a couple more still to be added. So I think that for the price of a ticket — and the tickets are really competitively priced — because if you go and get the early birds then you’re paying EC$15 to come along and watch and that’s a lot of entertainment for not a huge amount of money,” he said.
As for the cricket, Miller believes that the Falcons will be on a mission to make Antigua and Barbuda proud and that they have already taken steps to ensure they make a meaningful run for the playoffs this time around.
“I think that last year, the Falcons would admit that they underperformed and they didn’t do as well as they should have, but I think there is a real commitment to try and right that wrong this year and push for the playoffs for the first time that an Antigua team has made it to the CPL playoffs and I think that will primarily be their target.
“They’ve got a really experienced coach who has won the CPL before, Paul Nixon, and he’s going to be leading the side. He is someone who has won the CPL; he did it in 2016 with the Jamaica Tallawahs so I think you guys should be feeling pretty positive about it. When you’ve got guys like Shakib Al Hasan who is one of the greatest all-rounders the game has ever seen in your side, you have to be feeling pretty confident your side is going to win some games,” the head of PR said.
Falcons will open their campaign against the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots on August 14 in St. Kitts before their first home games two days later. Following their clash against Barbados here, the Falcons host St. Lucia Kings on August 17th before hosting Trinbago Knight Riders three days later. Falcons then take on Guyana Amazon Warriors at home on August 22 before hosting neighbours St. Kitts two days later on August 24.
