Girls’ Primary Football League
Facing NorthEast Schools in a rematch of the previous year’s girls’ Champions Cup final, Cayman Prep GA once again found themselves locked in a tight contest.
The score remained level at 1-1 after regulation time, and five minutes of extra time failed to break the deadlock, setting the stage for a tense penalty shootout.
Cayman Prep’s goalkeeper Sophie Pearson stepped up in the decisive moment, saving two penalties to secure the 2-1 victory and the championship title for her side.
Pearson was named the Marie Martin Most Valuable Player – an accolade she has now earned for the second consecutive year.
The battle for third place was decided by a single goal, with Sir John A. Cumber Primary edging out the Joanna Clarke Primary side with a 1-0 win.
In the Consolation Cup final for the girls, Cayman Prep GB secured the school’s first title of the day with a 2-0 victory over Cayman International School Blue.
