In less than seven weeks, Cayman will host Bermuda in its opening match of the CONCACAF W Qualifiers set to kick off at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex on 27 Nov. at 7pm.
The Cayman ladies have been drawn into group C, a pool that also includes Costa Rica, Guatemala and Grenada.
CIFA Women’s Technical Director Martha Godet expressed the significance of starting at home in a recent press release.
“It’s always special to play at home, especially when it’s the first match of a major tournament. This group gives us a chance to test ourselves against some of the best programmes in the region while continuing to develop our squad. The players are excited, focused, and ready to represent the Cayman Islands with pride,” Godet said.
One step the Cayman squad took to prepare for the qualifiers is a training tour in the Dominican Republic from 10-20 July where they played four matches.

Reflecting on the value of this tour, Godet said, “The women’s senior team’s trip was an invaluable experience that provided our players with competitive match exposure and an opportunity to build team chemistry in an international setting.
“The level of opposition challenged us both technically and tactically, allowing the coaching staff to assess our strengths and areas for improvement. This preparation has been instrumental in raising our confidence and readiness as we head into the upcoming qualifier matches.”
The 2025/26 W Qualifiers features 29 member associations, divided into six groups, vying for a spot in the 2026 CONCACAF W Championship.
Each team will play two matches at home and two away, and at the conclusion of this qualifier round, the six group winners will advance to the CONCACAF W Championship. Here, they will join Canada and the United States, the region’s two top-ranked teams who received a bye to the Championships.
The road to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games is paved by the CONCACAF qualifiers as it is the opening phase of regional qualification for the major international events.
The Cayman Islands Football Association announced the 35-player training squad ahead of the qualifiers:
