CELTIC fans have been waiting all summer for a striker and he’s finally arrived – 24 hours AFTER the transfer deadline closed.
The Hoops have sealed a swoop for former Man City and Leicester City man Kelechi Iheanacho, who arrives on a free transfer following his release from Sevilla.
The news comes after the Scottish champions allowed Adam Idah to depart to Swansea City for £6m on transfer deadline day, then were rebuffed by the likes of Kasper Dolberg and David Datro Fofana.
Iheanacho, 28, is a top quality operator, even if a loan spell at Middlesbrough in the first six months of the year harvested only one goal in 15 appearances.
He cost a whopping £25m when he left Manchester City for Leicester City in the summer of 2017, spending seven years with the Foxes in all and winning the FA Cup with Brendan Rodgers‘ side.
From there it was onto Sevilla but things haven’t panned out as planned for him on the Andalusian coast.

The Hoops were credited with a major interest in the him back in January but he opted for Middlesbrough instead.
He arrives just hours before the 11pm deadline for Celtic to confirm their Europa League squad.
