HIS father was a prolific goalscorer, netting over 200 goals for club and country.
But at just 19 years old, the son of a Celtic hero is still waiting to score his first senior goal in football.

That could soon change, however, with the youngster set to drop down a division in search of regular game time for the remainder of the season.
After struggling for minutes in the Twente first team, he has found opportunities hard to come by while competing with two established names for a place in the side — including a former Rangers star.
Just like his father three decades ago, Lucas Vennegoor of Hesselink is now aiming to become a regular starter for Eredivisie side Twente.
The son of Celtic cult hero Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, Lucas has followed a remarkably similar path to his father, who also came through the youth ranks at the Tukkers.

The former Celtic striker and Dutch international made his senior debut for Twente at just 18 years old and went on to score 75 goals in all competitions across five seasons before earning a move to PSV Eindhoven.
He is now operating as PSV’s technical manager.
Vennegoor of Hesselink continued his prolific form in Eindhoven, netting a further 89 goals for PSV, before moving to Scotland to join Celtic in 2006.
During three seasons with the Hoops, the towering striker scored 44 goals in 108 appearances and later added three goals in 19 caps for the Netherlands, featuring at the 2006 World Cup and Euro 2008.
Now, his son Lucas is looking to follow in those footsteps.
The highly-rated teenager was part of the Netherlands side that won the Under-19 European Championship last summer, scoring against England to knock them out of the tournament.
Lucas made his senior debut for Twente in January 2025 after registering close to a goal-a-game return at youth level.
Since then, he has featured 13 times in all competitions but is still searching for his first senior goal.
That wait could soon be over, with the striker expected to leave Twente on loan in search of more minutes.
The Enschede side already have former Gers forward Sam Lammers and experienced Ricky van Wolfswinkel, making it difficult to break into the team.
And according to Dutch outlet Tubantia, the youngster is attracting interest from elsewhere in the Netherlands, while local journalist Paul Lassche reports that De Graafschap are weighing up a move.
The Doetinchem club have been competing in the Eerste Divisie since their relegation from the Eredivisie in 2018/19 but currently sit fourth in the table.
They are eyeing a return to the top flight — and believe the Celtic hero’s son could be the perfect addition to boost their promotion push.
