CELTIC are preparing to launch a third bid for striker target Kasper Dolberg after seeing two offers rejected by Anderlecht, according to a report.
Brendan Rodgers has made the 55-cap Danish hitman his priority target to replace Adam Idah who’s nearing a move to Swansea.
The Republic of Ireland star is currently in Wales undergoing the second part of his medical after Swansea reached an agreement with Celtic to sign the struggling forward.
It’s believed the Hoops will rake in around £6million for Idah, but will only be allowed to leave when Rodgers lands a replacement.
And it looks like the Celtic boss is upping the ante to ensure he snaps up Dolberg to allow Idah to finally depart before the window closes.
SunSport were first to reveal that Dolberg had emerged as the leading contender to take Idah’s place at Parkhead.
Anderlecht were previously looking for a fee of around £10m for the striker but it’s understood they are willing to accept less after failing to qualify for Europe this season.
It’s unclear exactly how much Celtic have offered to Anderlecht so far, but Belgian outlet DH Sports claim the Hoops were way off with their first approach.
It’s stated their initial bid was less than half the minimum asking price Anderlecht set for the Dane.
Reports this week suggested the Belgian club are looking for £8.5m.
It’s believed other European clubs have shown interest, but Celtic are the only club to submit a concrete offer.
And the report suggests the Scottish champions are now readying a third approach after the first two were turfed out.
Celtic are now in a race against time to get the deal done before tomorrow night’s deadline.
Should Celtic reach an agreement with Anderlecht then Dolberg could travel to Scotland either tonight or early doors tomorrow to get the deal over the line.
He’s been included in Anderlecht’s squad for their league game against Union St Gilloise tonight, with kick off at 5.30pm UK time.
Meanwhile, fellow Celtic target Sebastian Tounekti started for Hammarby against Osters amid late interest from Rodgers’ side.
