A FORMER England boss has emerged as a new name in the frame for the vacant Celtic manager’s job.
The Hoops are looking for a new permanent boss after the stunning departure of Brendan Rodgers.

SunSport exclusively told you Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna was a main contender for the role although it would take a hefty compensation fee to lure him away from the Championship outfit.
Former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has also been tipped for a return to the club but we understand that’s unlikely after a turbulent few months for the Aussie.
Now ex-England boss Lee Carsley has emerged as surprise name in the running.
Carsley, who has 40 caps for the Republic of Ireland, enjoyed success with the England U21s, leading them to the Euro title in 2023.

He then became interim boss of the national team in August 2024 after Gareth Southgate left the role.
He won five out of six games during his short stint in charge, including a 5-0 thumping of Ireland before Thomas Tuchel took over.
The 50-year-old then returned to manage the Under 21s once Tuchel was appointed.
Carlsey odds with bookmakers were at one point 33/1, but they have been slashed to 8/1 putting him ahead of the likes of Craig Bellamy and Kjetil Knutsen in the running.
