BEING part of a team can often feel like being part of a family — and for some footballers, it literally is.
Over the years, the sport has seen plenty of famous siblings share the same pitch: the Touré brothers at Manchester City, the Neville brothers at Manchester United, and Ronald and Frank de Boer at Rangers.
Even in Scotland today, brothers Nicky and Chris Cadden are teammates at Hibs.
But it’s far rarer to find three brothers playing for the same team at the same time.
That’s exactly what’s happening in Ireland, where one club boasts a trio of brothers in its ranks.
The team in question is Shamrock Gaels, a Gaelic football side from Sligo.

And remarkably, the brothers’ fourth sibling is a professional footballer at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Celtic striker Johnny Kenny left his native Sligo to join the Hoops in 2022, later returning to Ireland for two loan spells with Shamrock Rovers.
Meanwhile, his three brothers — Ciaran, Patrick, and Niall — stayed home to represent Shamrock Gaels, the local GAA club where the family grew up.
At the weekend, all three played key roles in a historic victory that ended the club’s 33-year wait for a county title.
Ciaran Kenny was named Man of the Match as Shamrock Gaels defeated defending champions Coolera/Strandhill in the 2025 Sligo Senior Football Championship final.
The win marked the club’s third-ever county title and their first since 1992.
Patrick and Niall Kenny also featured in the triumph.
It was a proud day for the Kenny household and another remarkable chapter in the family’s legacy.
Their father, Johnny Kenny Snr, is well-known in Sligo football circles, having represented Sligo Rovers and Finn Harps in the League of Ireland.
The current Celtic forward, 22, followed in his footsteps, rising through the Sligo Rovers academy before earning his dream move to Scotland in 2022.
