AS rivalries go, Glasgow’s takes some beating.
The ferocity between Rangers and Celtic is such that those involved in it have to change their entire colour scheme.
And current Hoops goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has revealed that he has succumbed to the madness by ditching a beloved car which he has had since childhood.
That’s because it just happens to be blue – and that just isn’t the done thing for a Celtic player driving around Glasgow.
Schmeichel has graced Man City and Leicester (not to mention Falkirk) – all of whom proudly wear the colour.
But these days the said automobile stays in the garage.

And a pair of blue goalkeeper gloves stay in the cupboard – for similar reasons.
Schmeichel told SportTV2 in Denmark: “I had a car from my childhood that was blue.
“I don’t drive that now.
“I had blue on my gloves for a while too but not any more.
“You can’t avoid it, it’s an amazing experience.”
Schmeichel has a close relationship with Peter Lovenkrands which dates back to the 2010s and the Rangers winger’s days playing for Birmingham while he was at Leicester.
But sampling the Old Firm rivalry first hand since he replaced Joe Hart in the Hoops goalkeeper role has been an eye opener.
The Dane said: “Until you experience it, you don’t understand it. It’s life and death.
“It means everything and it’s the only thing people talk about.
“If you’re out shopping or filling up on petrol, it’s Celtic, Rangers, Celtic, Rangers.
“I don’t think you can understand it until you’ve experienced the passion in one of the stadiums over here.”
