Derion Hurley was one of three players to reach double figures as C.A.M Smart Assurance City United Celtics defeated Burger King Clapham Bulls 97-82 in the Barbados Amateur Basketball Association Premier League on Sunday.
Playing at the Barbados Community College, Hurley top scored for the Celtics with 20 points, while Kiserian Adams added 19 and Deroni Hurley 16. For the Bulls, Simeon Maynard had a game high 24 points in a losing cause and Manuel Alleng 18.
Fusionz Boutique Station Hill Cavaliers were also among the night’s winners, after defeating Premiumfit Bears 97-85. Gavin Philips led the way with 22 points, while Deveron Knight added 21 and Stephan Ottley 16.
Antoine Winter top scored for the Bears with 23 points, with Akeem Williams contributing 21.
Twenty points from Nathan Estwick, in addition to 19 each from Kadeem Brathwaite and Carl Thorpe paved the way, as KFC Pinelands dismissed Island Care Ambulance Service and BodyxB Lakers 92-76. For the Lakers, Keefe Birkett top scored with 24 points, while Brandon Ruck grabbed 16.
In the night’s remaining game, NSC Tridents upset Warrens Allstars 80-68, with Issac Griffith scoring 20 points, Zane Gaskin (19) and Ari-Mottley Squires (17) for the winners. Trishon Gaskin (24 points ) and Johnathan Dottin (20), top scored for the All Stars. (KH)
