CHAMPION jockey Oisin Murphy has pleaded guilty to drink-driving after smashing his car into a tree.
The 29-year-old was charged last month on the same day he rode a double at Royal Ascot.
Murphy appeared at Reading Magistrates Court today where he pleaded guilty to one count of driving a motor vehicle while over the prescribed limit of alcohol.
He was not asked to plead on another count of failing to cooperate with a preliminary test at the roadside.
The four-time champion jockey crashed his car into a tree in Hermitage, Berkshire, on April 27 this year.
Murphy had ridden a treble at Leicester the day before the crash.
