Minutes earlier Cody Gakpo had tapped in from close range, putting the hosts in the ascendancy.
That goal cancelled out Bryan Mbeumo’s early opener – the forward’s strike is the quickest scored in the Prem just season, coming after just 62 seconds.
Gakpo almost denied United the win but he headed wide with the goal gaping in stoppage time.
