Chargers Volleyball Club, known for its commitment to developing young volleyball athletes, is proud to announce the launch of its Beach Volleyball Training Program—an exciting new addition that will bring year-round high-level training to the shores of Antigua and Barbuda.
The program is designed for competitive players in the U12 to U23 age categories, and will cater to all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned indoor players looking to master the dynamics of the sand court.
Fort James Beach will serve as the primary training base, with additional sessions planned at beaches around the island. Beach volleyball offers more than just competitive play—it provides an intense full-body workout that enhances coordination, agility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness, all within a fun and inspiring environment.

Leading the program are Chargers Volleyball Head Coach Rosemarie Simon and Club Director Franz deFreitas, both certified FIVB [Fédération Internationale de Volleyball] Beach Volleyball Coaches. Coach Simon brings over 15 years of competitive beach volleyball experience, and her passion for the game continues to drive young athletes toward excellence. The program will also benefit from visiting coaches and international volleyball professionals, who will conduct specialized clinics and workshops throughout the year. This collaborative coaching effort ensures that athletes receive world-class training and mentorship at every stage of their development.
“Our goal is to create a vibrant beach volleyball culture in Antigua and Barbuda,” said Simon. “It’s more than just a game—it’s a pathway for personal growth, physical health, and competitive excellence.”
