THERE was plenty to talk about from today’s match between Rangers and Livingston.
The last-gasp win was Russell Martin‘s first in the league and his delight was clear to see but fans were still calling for his removal despite the result.
Gers hero and pundit at the ground Kris Boyd said the three points were just ‘papering over the cracks‘ as the team sit eighth in the Premiership table.
But it was when they turned their attention to other fixtures that one of his colleagues had a bold prediction to make.
Joining Boyd and host Eilidh Barbour in the Sky Sports coverage were Scotland hero James McFadden and Motherwell player/former Ibrox star Andy Halliday.
At the start of November, Hampden will host the Scottish League Cup semi-finals, including a huge Old Firm matchup.

But it’s the other side of the draw where Halliday will be involved, as Jens Berthel Askou’s ‘Well take on St Mirren.
Both have enjoyed strong starts to the season, occupying third and fourth places in the league.
Speaking at the Home of the Set Fare Arena today, Halliday said: “Three top sixes in three seasons is an incredible achievement for Stephen Robinson and his side.
“And probably the only thing that’s missing for them is that cup run.”
“They’ve managed to get to the semi-final but unfortunately that’s the furthest they’re going to get.”
“Better clip that up!” said Boyd, as the Motherwell midfielder declared his side already through to the final over a month before kick-off.
McFadden chimed in ‘oh, that’s fighting talk!’
While still on air, Boyd also dished out a jibe at regular punditry colleague and Celtic hero Chris Sutton in his absence.
He held up his smart watch as he received a notification on air, revealing Sutton was trying to get in touch from south of the border.
He said: “I can’t believe that, he’s just tried to call me. The big man’s just tried to call me!
“He’s meant to be doing Aston Villa, I know it’s finished now, but he must be missing us!
“We’re not missing him! Stay down there.”
