The CPTS/Wings Sports Football Unit recently received several pairs of donated football cleats (boots) from Omonia Football Club in England. This initiative was made possible through the efforts of coach, Kevin McIntosh. The cleats were shipped to Antigua with the assistance of Her Excellency, Karen Mae Hill.
Following the arrival of the donation, Barbara Coates, Chairperson of the Wings Football Unit, distributed several pairs of cleats to young players across the island, including students from Jennings Primary School and Bolans Primary School. Their football coach, Derrick “Pretty Boy” Edwards, was on hand to receive the timely donation on behalf of the young athletes.

Additional donations were also made to the Parham Youth Football Programme. The Parham players, along with their coach, Jeremiah “Fatty” Harriette, were present to receive the equipment.
Coates stated that the donation demonstrates her team’s continued commitment to expanding the development of football across the island. She explained that the initiative focuses on providing gear to children whose parents are sometimes unable to afford the necessary equipment for the sport. By supplying cleats and other football gear, the Wings Football Unit hopes to encourage greater participation in football and support the growth of youth development programmes throughout Antigua and Barbuda.
