TIM PUSEY has been told he can’t use his nickname ‘The Magnet’ when he makes his debut at Alexandra Palace this December.
Aussie thrower Pusey booked his spot at the World Championships by securing top spot on the Australian Darts Association Tour rankings.

The 33-year-old did so by clinching back-to-back titles across the final weekend of ADA action in Victoria last month.
But Tim ‘The Magnet’ Pusey revealed the PDC has ruled he won’t be allowed to display his chosen nickname on his shirt at this winter’s major tournament.
He chuckled and told Tungsten Tales: “I don’t have any of that on my shirt.
“I’ll have to find a new one and maybe we’ll have to put it to a poll and get something.

“It’s hard because anything can be turned (laughs)… at the moment I don’t have any and the chants can be colourful.”
At the 2023/24 World Championship, Owen ‘The Master’ Bates also claims he had his branding blocked by the PDC because they deemed it too rude.
Bates later laughed off the fuss and said to the Weekly Dartscast: “It was something that was fortunate, personally, and it was just as a joke. That’s what it’s all about, really.
“I was listening to talkSPORT and my name was mentioned. And how I reacted to it… I just remember it being all over Twitter and all over Facebook.

“It was only a bit of a terrible feeling, but it was all fun.
“I remember when I first started, we had only thought of master as a joke.”
The World Championship prize fund has been boosted to £5million, with the winner of the Sid Waddell Trophy set to pocket a cool £1m.
Pusey admits the bumper prize pot will certainly help cover the long trip from Down Under to London.
He added: “Yeah it definitely helps!
“I came so close back in 2018, I just missed the final and blew a few match darts but we won’t talk about that.
“I’m stoked, it took a while for it to actually set in, it’s kind of been on the back-burner.
“It’s just about getting excited and getting the preparation in, before we wouldn’t have darts for three months since the last event, but now we’re playing each weekend and hopefully it all falls in line to deliver in December.”
