DAVID BECKHAM has been approached by a group of UAE billionaires as they prepare a bid to buy Manchester United, according to sensational reports.
An unknown consortium of investors from the UAE are said to be planning to make an offer for the shares controlled by the majority owners of United, the Glazers.

And as part of that bid, they have sought the support of club legend Beckham.
According to the Star and Mirror, they have approached the six-time Premier League champion and Treble winner to see if he would be willing to become an ambassador for the bid.
The 50-year-old, who has a net worth of £300million and already owns the likes of Inter Miami and Salford City, would also be given the chance to invest in his former club if he wished.
Beckham’s worldwide fame is said to have made him the preferred candidate for this role ahead of fellow Red Devils icons Eric Cantona and Wayne Rooney.

Ruben Amorim calls for long ball rampage at Liverpool with Lammens key man
He has been critical of the Glazers’ now 20-year ownership of United – who loaded the Old Trafford outfit with debt and has seen £1.2billion spent on debt interest, debt repayments, dividends and fees to the family.
United are estimated to be worth around £2bn, but the Glazers will reportedly hold out for a fee of around £5bn to sell their position.
The US family remains the majority shareholders at United, but have sold just under 30 per cent of their shares to Sir Jim Ratcliffe‘s Ineos when they paid £1.2bn to buy into the club.
British billionaire Ratcliffe beat the likes of Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim in the bidding process in 2023 when the Glazers announced they were open to either a full or partial sale.

Earlier this month, SunSport revealed how news of the alleged bid for United left club sources baffled.
Saudi Arabian government official Turki Alalshikh suggested the club were in discussions about a potential sale.
Yet his links to billionaire Rodolphe Saade could explain the brazenly public showing.
Saade is the chairman and chief executive of the CMA CGM Group, which recently acquired Freightliner, who in turn own land around Old Trafford which is central to plans to build a new 100,000-seater stadium.
On the pitch, Ruben Amorim‘s side travel to Liverpool later today for the Premier League’s blockbuster weekend clash.
United have not won away at their arch rivals since January 2016, but a more pressing record the team want to overcome is the lack of back-to-back wins under Amorim since he joined from Sporting Lisbon in November last year.
