DAVIDE ANCELOTTI’S future has been up in the air since it was announced dad Carlo would be taking over as Brazil manager.
But now Ancelotti Sr has dropped a major hint as to where his Rangers-linked son will be working next season.
Ancelotti was speaking at his first press conference since becoming Brazil boss.
And during the discussion, the Italian legend confirmed his son didn’t travel with him because he’s in talks with a European club over becoming their new manager.
He also revealed the highly-rated coach could still join him in South America – if he doesn’t land the role.
He said: “Davide is currently in negotiations with a European team, and it didn’t seem right to bring him in.

“If he goes to a club, I wish him the best, and if not, he can come back to us.”
We told you earlier today that Ancelotti Jr wasn’t spotted on his dad’s flight to Brazil.
Brazilian reports stated that Carlo’s wife Mariann Barrena McClay, his stepdaughter Chloe Victoria McClay and Brazilian businessman Diego Fernandes were all there, as well as coaches Paul Clement and Francesco Mauri.
But there was no mention of Carlo’s son and trusted assistant, although contrasting reports from Spain suggested he WAS travelling to South America.
A post from South American journalist Eduardo Burgos seemed to confirm the understanding that Davide would assist Carlo for Brazil‘s first two qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay next month.
And a contradicting story out of Brazil two weeks ago said that the Ancelottis would remain a double act until after the World Cup.
Burgos also warned that Davide could ‘pull off a surprise’ and join up with his father before the tournament in the US, Canada and Mexico.
