DUNDEE UNITED’S European journey has been mapped out further.
Jim Goodwin’s men have discovered who they’ll face next in the Conference League – providing they get through their clash with UNA Strassen first.
Dundee United are back in European competition for the first time in three years.
They’re entering the Conference League at the second qualifying round stage this week.
Luxembourg side UNA Strassen are their first opponents, with the first leg at Tannadice this Thursday.
Should they progress from that tie, they now know who they’ll be facing at the next stage.
The winner will face either Decic or Rapid Vienna in the third round.
It means either a trip to Montenegro or Austria, with the tie to be played across two legs on August 7 and August 14.
Decic, who finished fourth in the Montenegrin First League last season, have competed in Conference League qualifying on four occasions but have yet to make it to the tournament proper.
Based in the small town of Tuzi, they’ve recently enjoyed the most successful period of their history.
They won the league title in 2024 and won the Montenegrin Cup for the first time last season.
Rapid Vienna are, of course, a much more well known force when it comes to European football.
The 32-times champions of Austria have played Dundee United before in the European Cup quarter-finals in the 1983/84 season.
Dundee United progressed on away goals after a 2-2 draw on aggregate.
The Austrian side won 2-1 in Vienna before a Davie Dodds goal back in Dundee won the second leg for the Terrors who went through to face Roma in the semis.
