KYOGO FURUHASHI has endured a nightmare time of things since leaving Celtic.
But his horror spell could be about to end with an English Premier League club considering making a shock swoop for him, according to a report.
Kyogo, 30, made himself a firm Celtic fans’ favourite during a glittering three-and-a-half year spell at Parkhead.
Plucked from the J-League by Ange Postecoglou, the Japan international proved a prolific frontman in Scotland.
After inspiring the Hoops to a double in his first season, he struck 27 league goals the following campaign as Celtic made it a treble.
Kyogo played in every Premiership game as the Hoops made it three-in-a-row in 2023/24.
Doubts began to emerge over his Parkhead future as last season rumbled on and come the January transfer window, it looked like he would be bidding farewell.
And on January 27, he did indeed say goodbye as he sealed a bumper £10million move to French club Rennes – with Jota heading the other way in a separate deal.
But the transfer has ended up being an absolute nightmare.
He’d barely arrived when the manager Jorge Sampaoli was sacked.
The man who replaced the former Argentina boss, Habib Beye, doesn’t seem to fancy Kyogo at all.
He made just six appearances for his new club before the season’s end.
Only ONE of those came from the start and that was his debut way back on February 2.
He was hooked on 66 minutes of that 1-0 win over Strasbourg having touched the ball just seven times.
Once again, Kyogo’s future is uncertain with it looking likely he could move on again in the summer transfer window.
Back in March, reports from France were already emerging that Rennes were planning to sell him.
Speaking earlier this week, Kyogo hinted that he was preparing for pre-season with Rennes as he insisted he “will do my best.”
However, he could instead be set to head to England.
That’s because French outlet La Parisien claim that Bournemouth are interested in signing him.
The report claims Kyogo is ‘up for sale’ with Rennes desperately trying to trim their squad, which currently has 46 players under professional contracts.
They say that Bournemouth, who finished ninth in the Premier League, are looking to discover the terms that would apply to sign Kyogo.

The striker still has two years left to run on his Rennes contract.
The Cherries are also credited with an interest in another Rennes player, Adrien Truffert.
