CHARLIE AUSTIN insists Danny Rohl isn’t a Russell Martin replica.
The former striker was a Southampton player when the new Rangers boss was first-team coach to boss Ralph Hasenhüttl.

And Austin was blown away by the German’s training ground ability – and insists he’ll have Ibrox fans on the edge of their seats.
He said: “At Southampton, ultimately he was the man who brought all the tactics in.
“At the time, his English wasn’t so great.
“Ralph Hasenhüttl used to stand next to him on the side and he would come in and basically just relay what Danny told him in German, really.

“He was a phenomenal coach, he really was.
“Rangers fans can say he’s going to be Russell Martin 2.0 but he’s gone and worked for the German national team, Leipzig, Bayern Munich.
“And the job he did for Sheffield Wednesday, keeping them up in the Championship, was a phenomenal job.
“He now goes to Rangers and needs to realise how big the club is but the fans should be excited about him coming in.
“Sure, it’s not Steven Gerrard or Kevin Muscat, someone affiliated with the club already.
“But I’ll say to the Rangers fans, you have got someone coming in who is a young, hungry manager. Someone who will have you off your feet.
“Get ready for your players to get really fit and counter pressing at its finest.”
What Austin does insist is vital is that the players at Rangers fully buy into what Rohl asks of them.
He added: “That’s the biggest thing, but that comes down the dressing room, doesn’t it.
“Yes, if Steven Gerrard comes in then it speaks volumes on its own. If it’s Kevin Muscat then he knows the football club.
“If a manager comes in knowing he’s third choice, it’s irrelevant. The players in that dressing room have got to show respect.
“They clearly had no respect or connection with the manager when it was Russell Martin.
“That was proven on the pitch.
“So now they’ve got to completely flip the narrative and give this new manager their full respect.
“Ultimately, if they don’t go the manager respect then THEY are going to fail.
