CELTIC won’t be the only team proudly wearing green and white Hoops in the Europa League this season.
That’s because Dutch outfit Go Ahead Eagles have just revealed they’ve launched a new shirt which is predominantly white with green stripes to commemorate the 60th anniversary of a historic clash with the Scottish Champions.
Back in 1965, the side based in the Dutch town of Deventer met Celtic in the very first European match in the club’s history.
So they’ve unveiled the new strip which they plan to wear in Europa League away matches in Salzburg and Nice with SIXTH small green stripes on the white shirt to mark the occasion.
Go Ahead Eagles finished seventh in the Eredivisie last season – almost 30 points behind champions Feyenoord.
For any Hoops fans who might be interested, the top costs £69 and the shorts come in at £30 – and are it’s available through the official Go Ahead Eagles webshop.

They wrote: “The shirt is predominantly white with green stripes, a nod to the match against Celtic.
“And for good reason: 2025 marks exactly sixty years since we played our first match in Europe. The sixty green stripes on the shirt symbolize this special anniversary.
“Our boys will wear this unique kit during the Europa League away matches in Salzburg and Nice. This is, of course, subject to UEFA approval.”
Go Ahead Eagles have had some involvement with the Hoops this season – although not all of it favourable.
They rebuffed an offer from Parkhead for winger Jakob Breum – but did sell another one of their star turns, Finnish winger Oliver Antman, to Rangers.
The Parkhead side later snapped up Sebastian Tounekti from Hammarby instead but that didn’t stop Go Ahead Eagles sporting director Van Hintum giving chapter and verse on the failed transfer bid.
He told Oost Sport: “No, that transfer wasn’t close.
“The gap between what we were asking for and what Celtic was willing to pay was simply too big.
“Jakob was open to it, but there was no agreement with Celtic.
“And of course, we ultimately had a say in that.
“The amount we asked for was very realistic and in line with the market, especially considering how things went with Oliver Antman.
“Of course, Jakob was disappointed, but he handled it fantastically. I expect him to shine again this season.”
