PREM star Jake O’Brien has told how his fear of the so-called ‘Away Day Robbers’ led him to buy a protection dog.
The Republic of Ireland international said that knowing his family are safe while he is playing is of paramount importance to him.
The 24-year-old Everton centre-back splashed out on the stunning black German Shepherd to make sure his girlfriend Sophie Lawlor and baby son Greyson are protected at all times.
He added that its the best source of security available.
Jake bought the dog from specialist dog protection company Chaperone K9 after a recommendation from team-mates.
The purchase comes after a string of high-profile robberies of Premier League footballers including his Toffees pal Jack Grealish.
