A PAIR of former Celtic stars have reunited for birthday celebrations.
Hoops fans might be stretching for memories of the two players, despite each of them having played for the club in the last five years.
Vakoun Bayo and Ismaila Soro reunited to celebrate the birthday of Bayo’s partner Gisela.
She took to Instagram to post a video of their party, including the two former Celtic stars, singing her Happy Birthday.
Soro’s wife Dame was also there for the celebration, which brought together the ex-Celts and Ivory Coast teammates.
Bayo signed for Celtic first out of the pair, joining from Slovakian side Dunajska Streda in January 2019.
The striker made just one appearance that season after failing to make the cut for the Hoops’ squad for the Europa League knockouts.
He played 16 times and scored twice in the 2019/20 season before it was called off due to the Covid pandemic, going on to sign for Toulouse on loan that summer and Gent permanently a year later.
Soro had linked up with his fellow countryman by signing for the club in January 2020, only managing one appearance before football was called off in March.
The midfielder played 23 times in the following behind-closed-doors season, but it was a disappointing one for Celtic as their bid for ten Scottish titles in a row was ended by Steven Gerrard’s invincible Rangers side.
Soro stayed at Parkhead for another year before leaving for Portuguese club Arouca, from which he joined Israeli outfit Beitar Jerusalem, where he is currently on the books.
Bayo has had a whole host of permanent and loan clubs since leaving Celtic in 2021, including English Championship side Watford, who he played for from 2022-2023 and again on loan last season.
He’s currently tied to Watford’s sister club Udinese in the Italian Serie A.
Soro’s sole Ivory Coast cap came in his time with Celtic in 2021, whilst Bayo has played four times for his country.
