ETHAN MCLEOD has been posthumously awarded Macclesfield FC’s December Goal of the Month award.
McLeod tragically died in a motorway accident on the M1 on December 17 while returning from his team’s National League North match at Bedford Town.

Today, Macclesfield announced that the 21-year-old had won their fan-voted monthly award for his headed equaliser against Kings Lynn Town on December 10.
It was the third and final goal he scored for the non-league outfit in his seven appearances for them.
Macclesfield wrote on X: “December’s goal of the month, as voted by you, has touchingly been won by Ethan McLeod for his headed equaliser against Kings Lynn Town.
“Always in our hearts, Ethan.”

McLeod joined Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers‘ academy at the age of seven and went on to play for their Under-21s in the EFL Trophy.
The Birmingham-born striker then had loan spells non-league sides Alvechurch, Rushall Olympic and Stourbridge.
He joined Macclesfield, who play in English football’s sixth tier, in July after a successful trial.
McLeod also competed in the Baller League, representing VZN FC in season one.
Following his passing, Macclesfield wrote in a club statement: “Ethan’s professionalism and unwavering work ethic inspired everyone, and his lust for life put smiles on all our faces – even on the darkest of days.
“The deep mental scars elicited from Ethan’s passing will undeniably never heal – but one thing is for sure, and that is Ethan’s vibrant legacy will never fade, no matter how much time passes in the future.”
