TWO former Rangers stars from the era of Walter Smith’s dominant team have made a surprise reunion.
Both players turned out for Gers in the 90s, when the Ibrox side went on a run of nine consecutive Scottish titles.
Ian Durrant was a key part of Rangers’ nine-in-a-row side, playing almost 250 matches for the club from 1985-1998.
That’s despite spending over two years on the sideline after a horror tackle by Aberdeen’s Neil Simpson left him needing reconstructive knee surgery.
In the 97/98 season, Durrant was joined at Ibrox by Italian striker Marco Negri.
And the pair shared a photo when they reunited to play together again recently.

Negri wrote on Instagram: “What a pleasure playing one more time alongside you.
“What a legend.”
And fellow Gers legend Ally McCoist, who played alongside the pair in their time at Ibrox, commented on the post: “Love this pic.”
Negri arrived in 1997 having impressed with Serie A side Perugia, and exploded onto the Scottish football scene.
He hit an amazing 23 goals in his first ten league games, and seemed destined to fire Rangers to a record-breaking tenth straight title.
But the forward suffered a freak eye injury whilst playing squash with teammate Sergio Porrini, and seriously damaged his retina.
The striker’s form tailed off after his return, and Celtic overhauled Gers to bring their run of titles to an end.
Negri became blighted with injuries and only played a further three matches in three years at Ibrox, before returning to former side Bologna in 2001.
