IT’S been nearly a month since Russell Martin was sacked by Rangers after a disastrous spell in charge.
Despite how badly things went at Ibrox, it’s being reported he could soon have TWO options for a stunning dugout return.
Martin, 39, was appointed Rangers head coach in early June.
But things would soon turn sour and fans were demanding his dismissal just weeks into the new season.
A 1-1 draw at Falkirk on October 5 proved the final straw for Gers chiefs who had previously been sticking by Martin despite the intensifying fan fury.
That result left Martin with a record of just five wins in 17 matches in all competitions, with only one victory in the Scottish Premiership.

He had to leave the Falkirk Stadium via a back entrance and was driven away in a private car with raging Gers fans surrounding the team bus.
Hours later, Martin was sacked.
The former Scotland international was quickly linked with a return to management.
He was ranked as a favourite for the Luton Town vacancy just 24 hours after his Rangers axe but that job went to Jack Wilshere instead.
However, he could soon have not one but TWO of his former clubs battling it out for him.
SunSport columnist Alan Nixon reports on his Patreon that Martin is ‘on standby’ to return to the dugout and claims he’s keen to return to the dugout.
His last job before taking the helm at Ibrox was as Southampton manager.
Martin led the Saints to promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs in his first season as boss in 2023/24.
However, they struggled to adapt to life in the top division and Martin was dismissed in December 2024 after a run of one win in 16 games.
Southampton went on to be relegated under his successor Ivan Juric and their nightmare has continued this season.
Will Still is already under serious pressure having only been appointed in the summer.
With promotion no doubt the ambition, Saints instead find themselves in 21st position – just one place above the relegation zone.
Nixon’s reports says Martin could be in the frame for the Southampton job should they move on from Still already.
Meanwhile, Norwich City – a club Martin is a legend of having enjoyed a stellar playing career there – are enduring an even worse campaign.
They also appointed a new boss in the summer but Liam Manning is under intense pressure.
