Jon Ferris excelled at the 52nd Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Fitness and Bodybuilding Championships held in St. Lucia over the weekend. He dominated the Men’s Physique Senior up to 176cm category, claiming the only gold to headline Antigua and Barbuda’s successful campaign. His victory demonstrated the strength of the nation’s fitness program on the regional stage. Apart from Ferris’ exploits, the Championship showcased exceptional talent across the region, with Antigua and Barbuda’s athletes delivering some impressive performances.
Veteran Yvette Butler emerged as Antigua and Barbuda’s most versatile competitor, securing multiple podium finishes across different categories. She claimed silver in Women’s Fit Model, finished third in both Bikini Fitness Master +35 years and Bikini Fitness +164cm, and placed third again in Bikini Fitness +172cm, showcasing her remarkable consistency across multiple disciplines.
Tiffany Gordon added to the medal haul with a silver medal in Bikini Fitness +172cm, while Tariq Kienesberger finished fourth in both the Games Classic Bodybuilding Open and Men’s Classic Bodybuilding up to 175cm.
The competition featured athletes from across the Caribbean and Central America, with strong representation from Barbados, Guyana, Bahamas, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Grenada. The event served as an important platform for regional fitness athletes to compete at the highest level.
El Salvador’s Edgar Pineda claimed multiple titles, winning the Games Classic Bodybuilding Open and taking the Overall Classic Bodybuilding crown. Barbados showed significant depth with athletes like Julian Belgrave, Haquiem Noel, and Jalicia Nightengale securing victories in their respective categories.
