The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Federation is proud to announce the approval of two new FIFA Arena mini-pitches to be constructed in the Territory, marking a major investment in grassroots football and community development.
Governor Albert Bryan Jr. shared that the USVISF had informed the government of a global initiative called FIFA Arena Project. In 2024, FIFA President Gianni Infantino unveiled the FIFA Arena Project, an ambitious program to install 1,000 mini-pitches in disadvantaged urban and rural communities around the world.
As part of this initiative, two FIFA Arena pitches will be built in the U.S. Virgin Islands:
St. Croix Educational Complex
Ezra Fredericks Park in St. Thomas
Governor Bryan emphasized that while FIFA will fully fund the construction of the fields, local preparation work must be completed promptly to meet project deadlines.
To support this effort, the PFA Board approved $80,000 to cover preliminary site preparation and related works necessary to ensure the Territory is construction-ready.
Governor Bryan also requested and received approval for an additional $160,000 to install lighting at the ballpark facility.
The USVI Soccer Federation applauds the leadership of Governor Bryan and the PFA Board for their commitment to youth development, sports infrastructure, and expanding access to football across the Territory.
These new FIFA Arena pitches will provide safe, modern, and accessible spaces for young people to train, play, and grow, strengthening the future of football in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
