A DOCUMENTARY telling the iconic story of a Scottish football legend is to come to the big screen next month.
Kenny Dalglish will feature never-before-seen personal clips and archival footage from his playing days at Celtic, Liverpool and Scotland, and home life.
The documentary is narrated by Sir Kenny Dalglish himself and will see him joined by wife Marina and former team-mates and friends Graeme Souness and Alan Hansen.
The film is directed by Asif Kapadia, the Oscar and Bafta-winning director of Senna, Amy Winehouse and Diego Maradona.
Kapadia said: “Kenny Dalglish was my hero as a kid and I had his picture on my wall in North London where I grew up.
“I wanted to make this film for people like me who remember Kenny as a player, the Celtic, Liverpool, and Scottish fans, but also for my kids’ generation who only know Kenny from playing FIFA.

“They know the name but they have never seen how good he was as a player or, more importantly, what he did off the pitch for the people of Liverpool.
“Kenny was the leader who always stepped up and led us when we needed him.”
Thanks to his skill, strength and flair Sir Kenny is regarded as one of the greatest players of all-time.
He won four leagues titles, four Scottish Cups and one Scottish League Cup with Celtic between 1972 and 1977.
He was then signed by Liverpool for a then-British transfer fee of £440,000 that summer, and would go on to win six top flight titles, three European Cups, the FA Cup and four League Cups with the Reds between 1979 and 1986.
‘King Kenny’ as he is affectionately known by Celtic and Liverpool fans was also Scotland’s most capped player, making 102 appearances and scoring 30 goals.
After a hugely successful playing career he went into management and won three league titles and a FA Cup with Liverpool from 1985 to 1991.
He took Blackburn Rovers from the Second Division to Premier League winners in 1995.
He also had spells in management with Celtic and Newcastle.
But he is as much revered for his work off the park as on it, including supporting families of the Hillsborough disaster, and was knighted for his services to football, charity and the city of Liverpool in 2018.
Kenny Dalglish will play in cinemas across the UK for one night only on October 29, with the documentary launching on Prime Video on November 4.
