Flemmings’ double not enough to prevent Ajman FC from going down 2-3 to Al Urooba in UAE Pro League
Monday’s UAE Pro League contest between hosts Ajman Club and the visiting Al Urooba was an interesting one for Jamaican striker Junior Flemmings as he found the net for both sides, with the visitors eventually securing a 3-2 win.
The former Toulouse FC attacker opened the scoring for Ajman in the 41st minute before putting the ball past his own keeper 12 minutes into the second half to make it 1-1.
Flemmings made it 2-1 Ajman in the 65th minute with his ninth goal in 20 games this season before Brazilian Heber equalized for Al Urooba in the 85th minute.
The teams looked to be heading for a draw before the second minute of added time when Viv Solomon-Otabor converted a penalty to secure the win for Al Urooba.
The loss leaves Flemmings’ Ajman 10th in the league table on 27 points from 23 contests while Al Urooba remain rooted at the foot of the 14-team standings on 10 points from their 23 games.
