Double-double performances from Adonis Humphreys and Alexis Jackson, helped to propel Flyers Basketball to a comfortable 90-73 victory over rivals Potters Steelers as they clinched their Division 1, best-of-five Playoffs Finals 3-2 at the JSC basketball complex on Thursday night.
Humphreys top-scored with 22 points on 10 of 17 shooting, hitting one of three from beyond the three-point line. The national player also grabbed 15 rebounds in the process. Jackson played a major role in the victory, picking up 11 points and 15 rounds of his own to also complete a double-double performance.



There was help as well from Javonte Daley who sank 18 points while David Hernandez and Kenya Achom, had 12 and 11 points respectively off the bench.
Flyers was dominant for the first three quarters of the contest, outscoring Steelers 27-14, 27-19 and 24-19 respectively. Steelers claimed the fourth and final quarter 21-12 but it was not enough to land them a third straight win over the opponents.
Jayden Andrew was the top performer for Steelers, sinking a game-high of 29 points, grabbing seven rebounds and tallying five assists. Raniq Nicholls contributed with 12 points off the bench while Kareem Edwards bagged 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Cohen DeSouza added nine points and nine rebounds to the losing effort.
The results means that Flyers are now both the league and playoffs champions, repeating the feat they achieved last year.
