BRENDAN RODGERS explored the free agent market to sign Kelechi Iheanacho after missing out on a number of attacking targets during the summer transfer window.
The former Leicester City frontman was just one of many experienced strikers that Celtic could have landed on a free after their stunning swoop for Kasper Dolberg fell through.

The Hoops were also linked with Patrick Bamford, while Jamie Vardy was touted as a potential option before he joined Cremonese.
It’s been almost a month since Celtic landed Nigeria star Iheanacho.
But even today there are still a number of household names still searching for their next club.
Diego Costa, Mario Balotelli, Paco Alcacer and Vincent Aboubakar are just a few who all still available on free transfers as they continue to defy the years.

And so is 39-year-old Atletico Madrid icon Radamel Falcao.
Falcao, who also starred for Manchester United, Chelsea, Porto, Monaco and Galatasaray, is currently on the hunt for his next club after leaving Colombian side Millonarios.
The veteran striker has been capped 104 times for his country, scoring 36 goals.
He has won trophies all over the world having lifted silverware in Argeninta with River Plate Portugal, Spain and France, along with a mountain of personal accolades.
But there’s one country he’s reportedly looking to conquer before hanging up his boots.
Falcao has been looking to seal a move to Mexico since leaving Millonarios, it’s being claimed.
Mexican outlet Excelsior state that the 39-year-old was offered to one club, but they turned him down.
The report suggests Pumas, managed by former Celtic star Efrain Juarez, were given the chance to sign the veteran but the Mexican boss didn’t fancy him.
Juarez was reportedly offered Falcao along with Santos Borre and Vincent Aboubakar and the Colombian didn’t make the cut.
The ex-Celtic player didn’t sign any of the three in the end but he hasn’t been short of star power at Pumas.
They already have Rangers flop Aaron Ramsey and Real Madrid legend Keylor Navas in their ranks.
