
THE world of rugby is in mourning after former Lions star Mick Lane died at the age of 99.
Lane was the oldest surviving member of the British and Irish Lions.

He passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, November 9, in Cork.
Wing Lane was Lion #329 and played 11 times, scoring five tries.
He was the only surviving member of the first Lions tour after World War Two which visited New Zealand and Australia in 1950.
Lane, a former University College Cork player and Civil Engineering student, was also capped 17 times by Ireland.
